Our Project
I put together a team of 5 students, and together, we created a project that aimed to investigate sound-absorption abilities of various recyclable materials.
To do this, we measured the intensity of the sound being propagated through various materials, in order to find the utility of waste materials in sound absorption. We conducted the experiment at home, and delegated the task among us for each part of the report.
A quote by the lead teacher:
“The Research Question is focused with a well-defined and quantitative Independent and dependent variable with a global significance and sustainability focus. Students used readily available materials for their investigation and collected relevant and sufficient data to address the research question. The raw data was analysed meticulously, and the results were presented accurately. During the entire course of the investigation, the entire team displayed attributes of being an inquirer and circumvented all difficulties through collaboration and extensive secondary research.“ ~ Mr. Srinivas Gopal (Chemistry Teacher, The British School)
Cambridge Upper Secondary Science Competition is a key opportunity to further ones knowledge about the scientific method and to demonstrate a passion for any fascinating topic.

About My Story
In my case, I had written a short story, the ‘Veiled Reflection,’ which had been selected for the triannual journal. It is a short horror story that revolves around a young girl, Anastasia, who is warring with an ancient entity within her for control of herself and her identity.
I quite enjoyed the writing experience, and the opportunity to share my talents and stories with the world.
